As part of the Zeppelin Group with over 10,000 employees, Zeppelin Power Systems (ZPS) is a leading European provider of complete tailored drive and energy systems for a wide range of industries, with more than 1,000 specialized professionals. The products range from combined heat and power generation for entire cities to powering of ships, modern rail vehicles and OEM applications to mobile generators for construction sites or similar. ZPS applies innovative model based engineering and sustainable technologies to ensure efficiency and reliability to meet the specific requirements of each industry. The Zeppelin Group is part of the Zeppelin foundation which supports charitable and philanthropic purposes.
In the H2SCORE project, Zeppelin Power Systems (ZPS) plays a key role by developing and integrating a 100-kW fuel cell system. ZPS customizes the PEMFC module to optimize heat management, using waste heat to improve hydrogen storage in metal hydrides for greater efficiency.
ZPS also ensures safety and reliability by integrating safety and filtration components, while adapting power conversion for seamless integration into the project’s energy management system.
The goal is to create a modular, scalable, and efficient solution that not only supports H2SCORE but can also be replicated in Renewable Energy Communities (RECs) across Europe. This technology helps advance decentralized energy supply and sector coupling, making future energy systems more sustainable, flexible, and efficient.
