Universidad de Burgos (UBU) is a public higher education and research institution located in Burgos, Spain. UBU has solid experience in applied research, innovation projects and technology assessment in the fields of renewable energy systems, sustainability, energy efficiency and socio-technical analysis of energy transitions. The university actively participates in national and European R&D initiatives, contributing scientific expertise, methodological rigor and an interdisciplinary approach that combines technical, environmental and socio-economic perspectives.
Within collaborative projects, UBU focuses on the evaluation of innovative energy solutions under real-life conditions, supporting evidence-based decision-making, replication potential and impact assessment. Its role typically includes case study analysis, performance evaluation, sustainability assessment and knowledge generation to support technology deployment and policy alignment. Through H2SCORE, UBU strengthens its commitment to supporting renewable energy communities and the integration of hydrogen-based solutions in local energy systems.
In H2SCORE, Universidad de Burgos (UBU) will lead and contribute to the case study analysis activities, focusing on the assessment of hydrogen-based energy solutions implemented within renewable energy communities. UBU will analyse technical, environmental and systemic performance of the selected case studies, supporting the validation of integrated hydrogen storage and fuel cell solutions under real operating conditions. The partner will contribute to data analysis, performance indicators definition, sustainability and replicability assessment, and the identification of lessons learned to support future deployment and scale-up of the H2SCORE concept across similar local energy communities.
