BIO2CHP

BIO2CHP (Bio-based Energy Technologies P.C.) is a Greek SME and spin-off of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, established in 2017. The company develops technologies for the thermochemical conversion of residual biomass into energy and fuels, focusing on small-scale and decentralized applications. Its work builds on over 15 years of research on biomass gasification and syngas treatment, aiming to enable the efficient utilization of agricultural and industrial organic residues for on-site renewable energy production and carbon sink materials.

BIO2CHP contribute within H2SCORE project

BIO2CHP contributes to H2SCORE by developing the biomass gasification system that will convert locally available biomass and organic residues into renewable syngas for the project’s high-temperature hydrogen technologies. The company is responsible for the design and specification of the gasifier unit and its integration within the overall energy system of the Renewable Energy Community (REC).

The BIO2CHP solution will enable the production of fuel suitable for the reversible solid oxide cell (rSOC), supporting efficient combined heat and power generation and strengthening the link between local biomass resources and hydrogen-based energy solutions. Through this contribution, BIO2CHP helps enhance system flexibility, promote circular use of local resources, and support the decarbonisation and resilience of renewable energy communities.
